And it just so happened . . . Not !

In the book of Esther, though  the Name of God is not mentioned, we sure see His hand at work.  In these chapters so many things just seemed to “happen”.  But we know that HE was in total control of every situation.  We see Mordecai (just happen) to raise Esther (2:7) when she had neither mother or father. We see that Esther ‘just happened’ to be  fair and beautiful (2:7). “So Esther was taken unto the king …. and the king (just happened?) to love Esther above all the women, and she (just happened) to obtain grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins, so that he (just happened) to set the royal crown upon her head, and make her queen…” (2:16-17)   “And (it just so happened that the matter (2 men were plotting to kill the king) was known to Mordecai.  And it (just happened) to be written in the book of the Chronicles before the king.”  Esther 6:1 “On that night (it just so happened) that the king could not sleep.”  (There are so many times in the Word when either sleep  or lack thereof are used mightily by God! A study all in itself!) Esther 6:4   “And the king said, Who is in the court?”  Now Hamen ‘just happened’ to be in the king’s court when the king was looking for some advice on how to greatly honor someone who had saved his life.

My favorite part is when Hamen was complaining to his wife and friends and they (just happened) to encouraged Hamen to build a REALLY TALL gallows to hang Mordecai on. That very gallows, just happened to be handy, when the King needed something to do with evil Hamen.

My heart has been so encouraged from the book of Esther. All the circumstances that “just happened”.  But that HE had totally under control.  What a joy to know that nothing concerning me or my life ever “occurs” to the LORD.  He is in total control every moment.  Nothing in my life ever “happens” by chance.  But an All Knowing, All Loving God…..prepares and plans a path … just for me.

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
And to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus says the Lord!”
Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Refrain
Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
Refrain
I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Refrain
