IT'S SO WORTH IT ...

Our practice with our grand kiddos

has been to buy them something nice

when they no longer wear diapers.

This was Anna's big week.  

Grandpa and I took her shopping 
and she picked out this bike.

Most have wanted bikes ... 

some got wagons ... 

some sleeping bag and scooter.

Her sister, Elly, was pretty excited too.
Now she has a bike riding partner!

Two Years .....

Matt and Julia were married.

It was a beautiful day ...

One filled with lots of good memories!

Their desire was and still is

to glorify the LORD together.

And they are doing just that.

The LORD is adding to their family.

In September, 

December, 2011

the baby that is in their hearts

will be in their arms.

"On the glorious splendor of

A Few of My Favorite Moms

These are a few of my

favorite moms

I am so thankful for 

Lois.

I met her when she was only about

15 and have loved her

ever since.

She is the perfect wife to

our first born, Jeremy,

and she is the best mom to 

3 of my precious grand kids,

Samuel, Chloe and Lydia.

I am so thankful for

Jill.

Our kids grew up with her.

I've loved her for a long time.

She is the perfect wife for

our second born, Jared, and

she is the best mom to

5 of my precious grand kids,

Lindsey, Alyssa, Carly,

Eddy and Nolan.

I  am so thankful for

Katie.

Our kids grew up with her too.

Jill and Katie are cousins and 

I've loved her for a long time.

our third born, Jalon, and

she is the best mom to

3 of my precious grand kids,

Briann, Cody and Sydney.

I am so thankful for

JoAnna.

I have loved and prayed for

her before she was even born.

She is our first born daughter

our son in love, Andrew.

her until it's appointed time.

out this Psalm in their lives.

That they will in their generation ...

My mom is an amazing lady!

I've see my mom do just that ...

she's always been soooo giving.

We share so much now

 in her 'golden years'.  

I feel like I'm catching up to her ....

Sometimes I wonder if 

I'll ever have to 

walk through days without her ....

Maybe we'll go together 

or

maybe she will go first or 

maybe I will go first ...

that is in the LORD's hands.

Some things I have learned 

from my mom ...

* many things in life are hard ~ 

but you do them anyway

just because its the right thing to do.

* not everything is gonna be perfect 

or just the way you want it,

but keep on doing the right thing.

* when you are spoken to harshly, don't answer back,

at least at the moment.

* when you are expected to do 
something that is not on your

list for the day, do it ~ and not grudgingly.

* when life is hard ~ 
put your big girl pants on, 

put your chin up and do the right thing.

* sometimes, once in a while, 

its good to laugh so hard

that you cry.

God Breathed ~ Every Word !

When I was a kid ......

I  had some wonderful, old ladies

as my Sunday School teachers.

Miss Pierson, Mrs Westlund, 
Miss Otteson, Mrs Dahlgren.

They have gone on to be 
with our LORD.

But they taught me something 
 w r o n g

all those years ago in 
Sunday School.

They taught me that the 
"words in red" 
in the Bible, were the most important words.

The words in red are important ... but equally important
are all of the rest of the words of the Bible.


I know the thoughts of these dear old ladies.
They were thinking that the words the LORD Jesus himself spoke,
deserved higher importance ... but that is not what
we read in the Scriptures.


In the first few verses of Galatians, Paul goes to great lengths to prove his Apostleship, 
his authority to the readers.  He needed to prove to them
that the things he was telling them were true and from God ...
not just his words.


Paul as well as Peter and John wrote New Testament
 Epistles with authority ... authority from God Himself.


The apostles were speaking TO the church
not on behalf of the church.
Their words were divinely inspired ...
and were to be read, listened to and obeyed.


We must always remember 
that the churches got their doctrine 
from the apostles, 
who got it directly from the LORD.


All of Scripture is 'God breathed' 
whether it was through the Prophets, the Apostles or the LORD Himself.


So, no more 'red letter edition' for me ! !

is from the heart of my God ...
