CHRISTMAS SONGS .... NEW AND OLD

I know Christmas is over.
But I didn't get to post about some Christmas songs
I have been thinking about.
This year I have enjoyed so many of the
"new" Christmas songs.

"How Many Kings?"
'Downhere'

Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe, after all we've projected,
A child in a manger?
Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mother's shawl -
Just a child -
Is this who we've waited for? 'cause...

How many kings step down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

Bringing our gifts for the newborn Savior
All that we have, whether costly or meek
Because we believe.
Gold for his honor, and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he will suffer
Do you believe?
Is this who we've waited for?

All for me...
All for you...

The words that are such a blessing to me are,

"How many kings step down from their thrones?"
and
"How many fathers gave up their sons for me?"

As I think on these words .... I think of the amazing, awesome

LOVE

the Father has for me.

He, as a King, stepped down from His throne and came to earth  .... for me.

and the Father

gave up His Son ... for me.

You can listen to this song here.
Enjoy it and think about the great love,
the great sacrifice and the great redemption that started in
Bethlehem and was completed at the cross.

This is my favorite song of all time! :) The Christian radio station here used to only play it at Christmas but got so many requests that it's played year-round now!
