I enjoy so much the many facets of the "Love Story" in the book of Ruth.
Our Great God takes a Gentile widow, Ruth, (who truly loved her MIL).
Transports her to a new land, gives her a godly husband, Boaz,
AND
makes her the great grandmother of David,
putting her in the line of our Savior! !
I was encouraged and pointed to the the LORD in the following verses.
Ruth 3:16 - "And when she (Ruth) came to her MIL, she (MIL) said, "How did you fare?
Then she (Ruth) told her (Naomi) all that the man (Boaz) had done for her .... ""
Boaz was a "Kinsman Redeemer" or one who had the privilege or responsibility to act for one in need.
Christ is our "Redeemer" coming to us in our need ... of a Savior from our sin.
This reminded me of Joseph ... a type of Christ, who told his brothers when they returned to their father ..
Genesis 45:13 - "You must tell my father (Jacob), of all my honor in Egypt."
and
When the Queen of Sheba went to visit Solomon she said ....
I Kings 10:7 - "The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words & of your wisdom, but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom & prosperity surpass the report that I heard."
These verses point me to the loveliness of our LORD Jesus Christ.
We can think on Him day after day, hour after hour
and His person, work and character are without end.
Oh how the Father must love to hear and know our thoughts about His Son.
His One and Only Son who He gave for me ! !
